Integrated School Readiness Programme Staff Programme Technical Requirement.
CDO is an abbreviation for CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION with registration to Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender Elderly and Children with certificate of compliance NO: 0756, It is a Non-Governmental Organisation, profit making but non-profit sharing and non-partisan Organization. CDO strive to be a centre for social welfare of low resource families and to improve their livelihood. The Headquarters for CDO Office is located at Changarawe village in Mzumbe Ward in Morogoro region.
Childhood Development Organization (CDO) in collaboration with Children in Crossfire (CiC) Tanzania (Development Partner) is implementing a 5 years programme of Integrated School Readiness Programme (ISRP) in Kilombero and Mvomero Districts in Morogoro region - 2017/2021.
The organization is looking for 2 qualified and competent officers as mentioned above.
DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE
Directly reports to the Programme Coordinator.
Responsible for timely implementation of the assigned project as per CDO and development partner guidelines.
ACCOUNTABILITIES General Activities
Ensure and oversee on the weekly, monthly and quarterly planed activities’.
Prepare timely narrative reports and submit to Programme Coordinator.
Collect and organize meaningful reports from the field area (facts and figures).
Develop and maintain systems to analyze information on inputs, outcomes and impacts of the project
Work with the programme coordinator to ensure that project activities and reports are implemented in a timely manner and in accordance with the project logical framework and Childhood Development Organization and Donors procedures.
Ensure proper Coordination with other CSos in the similar objective
Liaise between the organization and the local authorities in the areas of Project Interventions
Create good link with other CDO staff
Perform other duties of the organization as will be assigned by CDO Programme Officer
Capacity building and training:
Identify needs and design a capacity-building program in key areas such as child protection, child rights, teachers training, pre educators, VICOBA, monitoring and evaluation in accordance with the requirements of the Programme.
Share technical experience with CDO and partners’ staff, volunteers and key stakeholders.
Ensure that the Childhood Development Organization (CDO) child protection policy is adhere by project staff.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with the Donor and Childhood Development Organization (CDO) rules and regulations in all areas including financial management, record keeping, procurement, etc.
Comply with Childhood Development Organization (CDO) policies and procedures
Ensure that receipts and supporting documents are provided to the Finance department, in accordance with the Donor and Childhood Development Organization (CDO) requirements.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Maintain good relationship with all Program staff, partners and Government Staff
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential
Proven record of accomplishment of at least 2 years NGO development-programming implementation in Tanzanian rural context especially programmes targeting child development (specific early childhood development experience highly preferred).
Minimum of bachelor degree in education or ECE or social science with experience of working in education/ ECE/ECCD programmes
Professional experience interacting with partners and achieving project outcomes accordingly
Desirable
Strong understanding and demonstrable experience of working closely with local government structures, systems and strategic points of engagement to integrate programmatic priorities in local government processes.
Have experience of conducting training to early years educators (teachers) and Local Government Authorities
Proven evidence of ability to write reports
Have basic skills of financial management (can handle activity budget well and has proven record
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
Be a positive role model and demonstrate conflict-solving behaviors.
Have strong management and leadership skills
Should have skills in communicating with multicultural populations.
Ability to build and foster collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders including project staff, partner staff, local government representative
Ability to submit error free reports
Other Skills computer literacy- Excellent knowledge of Statistical packages and Microsoft application (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
Other requirement: Ready to work and stay in rural Kilombero or Mvomero District Council.
