Missions & Main activities
KIMBIJI AND MPERA WATER WELLS
Our drilling works supervision project in Tanzania (financed by the World Bank) is soon to be extended and we are looking for our Project/Contracts Manager to lead the next stage!
The position is initially for 5 months, potentially extendable to one year. The posting, based in Dar es Salaam, would start by mid February and may include staggered inputs (4 weeks duty, 10 days off).
The Project Manager has the overall responsibility of the works supervision. He will ensure compliance of the consultancy outputs with ToR and methodology, organize team mobilization and coordinate all internal and external reports.
Main project elements:
- 20 boreholes stainless steel casing and wedge wire screens, up to 600 m depth
- 2 rigs operating simultaneously
The team:
1 Resident Hydrogeologist
3 Clerks of Works
1 Secretary / Accountant
1 Driver
The PM receives support from head office:
- Project Director for contractual and financial matters
- Senior Hydrogeologist for technical matters
Tasks:
-Prepare and submit Monthly reports
-Prepare and submit minutes of meetings (weekly meetings, special meetings)
-Relationship with Client and Contractor representatives
-Liaison with partner
-Analyses contractor’s claim from technical and contractual point of view
-Manage changes, claims, conflicts
-Security coverage control (bonds and insurances), finance control, cost control
-BoQ and interim paiements
-Issuance and performance certification / defect liability certificate
-Review contractor’s final statement discharge
-Prepare final report
Qualification & Skills required
Required Skills:
MSc - preferably in Hydrogeology
At least 20 years professional experience
Experience with project management under FIDIC conditions
Experience in water infrastructure development industry
Excellent communication and English language skills
