Sauti is a 5-year USAID-funded award being implemented by Jhpiego-Tanzania in collaboration with partners EngenderHealth, PACT and NIMR/Mwanza.
The goal of Sauti is to contribute to the improved health of all Tanzanians through a sustained reduction in new HIV infections in support of the Government Tanzania. This is done through deploying new, and/or enhancing existing, vulnerability-tailored high-quality combination HIV prevention; positive health, dignity and prevention (PHDP); and family planning (FP) services for key and vulnerable populations (KVP) in selected regions of Tanzania. Anticipated project results include: 1) Increased and timely use of HIV prevention and FP services; 2) Improved positive behaviors and social norms at the individual and community levels; 3) Reduced vulnerability of women through novel structural interventions: and 4) Increasingly sustainable comprehensive HIV prevention services for KVP.
The project is currently implemented in selected districts in Iringa, Njombe, Mbeya, Shinyanga, Dar es Salaam, Mtwara, Tabora, Morogoro, Kilimanjaro. Singida. Dodoma and Arusha regions. The following position are open for immediate filling.
Position: Pharmacist/Logistics and commodities Advisor [One position based in Dar es Salaam]
Position Overview
The Supply Chain Technical Advisor cum Pharmacist position will provide overall technical management and coordination of supply chain activities for Sauti project. The incumbent will have technical and programmatic leadership for planning, managing, and reporting on all health commodities supply chain management activities to the project. S/he will provide technical guidance and leadership to ensure supplies and commodities are available at the last mile for program effectiveness. In addition, s/he will supervise Jhpiego's pharmaceutical warehouse ensuring the project meets all necessary legal and technical requirements in procuring, storing and distribution of pharmaceuticals to project beneficiaries as prescribed by local authorities and the donors. S/he will be expected to provide overall guidance in logistics management and serve as Jhpiego main point of contact for supply chain related activities.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy
• Active registration with the pharmacy council is required.
• At least Five years (5) years' experience in logistics/supply chain management and/or public health commodities management, especially MNCH, HIV testing and family planning commodities including a supervisory experience
• Experience in managing a pharmaceutical warehouse
• Proficiency in common computer packages (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point) relevant to the work and eagerness and ability to learn Forecasting and Excellent report writing skills and high level of computer literacy with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Familiar with supply chain system in Tanzania. Knowledge of existing supply chain management software/systems is an added advantage
• Ability to handle a variety of different assignments sometimes under pressure of deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to advocate and bring about consensus with senior government officials and numerous stakeholders;
Position: Case Manager [One Positon in each of the following Districts Mbarali DC, Rungwe DC, Msalala DC, Ushetu DC, Ludewa DC, Iramba DC and Nzega DC]
Position Overview:
Conducting the phone calls to reach the backlog and any prospective HIV infected /post GBV/IUD and FP Permanent methods individual who has not been linked up already with the PE / HBC volunteers / community workers and /or hasn't an outcome from the database; similarly for the HIV infected beneficiaries from C&T reports, VMMC reports, PMTCT/EID reports. Coordinate the escorted referral, tracking and partner notification from Sauti service.delivery points (CBHTC+, HBTC+, DIC), and other non-Sauti service delivery points (C&T, VMMC PMCT/EID) by monitoring peer educators/community workers performance through the respective biomedical providers. Reconcile and compile data into the regional tracking register and the regional partner listing and outcome register, and maintain it on weekly basis.
Required Qualifications:
• Diploma in community development, sociology or other relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience working in community and/or home-based care programs.
• - Prior experience in working-with literate and non-literate audiences; experience in participatory methods
• Experience working with community health workers and/or peer educators and/or community based HIV service providers/HBC providers highly desirable.
• Demonstrated self-management (i.e. motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability).
• Highly flexible to accept dual multiple roles and extra tasks as assigned by the Biomedical Advisor and /or Clinical Services Program Officer.
Position: Community ART Coordinator [1 for Shinyanga, 1 for Dar es Salaam and 1 for Iringa/Morogoro]
Position Overview:
The Community ART Coordinator will provide technical oversight for the Community ART interventions in the regions. S/he will collaborate with the Sauti project Community ART 6pecialist to provide technical assistance on the provision of ART to KVP. The incumbent will also provide guidance, monitoring and technical assistance on Community ART services to the R/CHMTs and to the sub awarded CSOs; as well coordinate the Community ART operations through the CBHTC+. S/he will provide technical and programmatic assistance that incorporates evidence-based best practices in the coordination, monitoring and assessment of Community ART programming and ensure adherence to approved protocols.
Required Qualifications:
• Medical or Nursing degree required, with additional post-graduate training in public health desirable
• At least 5 years demonstrated experience working in one or more areas of biomedical HIV prevention including: HIV care and treatment (required), HIV Testing Services, TB and TB/HIV, PMTCT, and Community Based HIV Services
• Proven supervision and leadership skills, as well as skills in training, facilitation, team building and coordination
• Strong leadership and technical capacity to support service delivery, especially at the community level
• Excellent grasp of clinical issues and current literature HIV/AIDS, family planning, TB and STIs
• Strong change management, results-oriented and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and Kiswahili.
• Experience in KVP or related programs
• Experience in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating HIV public health programs
• Experience working in the Tanzanian public health sector highly desirable particularly in areas of HTC, HIV care and treatment, family planning, and TB.
• Experience working with USG programs is highly desirable
• Experience and understanding of the PEPFAR framework is desirable
• Ability to travel in and out of the region for up to 70%.
